Women are recognized as important contributors to their own healthcare decision-making. Our practice philosophy recognizes pregnancy and birth as healthy experiences for the overwhelming majority of families. Most women are able to successfully labor and deliver without medical intervention or interference. Women and their families have the right to quality healthcare services that are medically safe and caregivers that recognize and respect unique social needs, spiritual beliefs, and one's ability to make appropriate decisions. This treatment should be holistic in nature, preventive in focus, and provide an opportunity for families to become active participants.
